For what it’s worth, there’s no issue on my end. Nia had a job as a temple guard, but functionally is a stealthy scout with some magic abilities. If Asal is also an Adept with a Combat flavor, then functionally we will be selecting abilities from a similar list. That too, is manageable - but if we have three adepts in the party we might want to confer when we advance so we aren’t duplicating abilities and/or diluting the cool. 8-) But an actual hunter is a very different concept than what I am planning for Nia. So, you do you. 8-) On Fri, Jun 27, 2025 at 9:25 AM bss via Emerald Flame < emerald-flame@lists.incorporeal.org> wrote:

[This is an inquisitive monster hunter who hunts with a combat flavor. I use the same mail in the MTG character creator, so Brian, you could use that for an invite. While I have been typing this I have seen Nia as a similar character, if that's too close, I can come up with another more distinct flavour. A natural character arc for Asal would be Explore, as he wants to add to the archive with his own findings, treading the footsteps of the other great hunters.]
[Your background above is good, and I don't think there's any glaring overlap with Nia. The Hunts/Slays Monsters have some conceptual overlap for sure, but I think in practice an Adept vs. something else is going to be different. We'll see when your do the build in MCG, which I sent an invite for. On that note, I'm curious what you're thinking for "monster hunter" as a type, but that'll be obvious when you put stuff in builder terms. Also, don't forget that you get two descriptors.
For the group, I'll get some chance to do map stuff and review characters more deeply in the MCG tools some time today, hopefully. Wee!]
