Hey all, did we not check down the chasm? Drop something to determine how far down? I assume our light sources did not show the bottom previously, right? [Sorry, I hallucinated some other kind of update when I was skimming, and now realize that things are probably waiting on me for a bit of guidance.] Dax could try to sneak by the other party, but at the moment, they are all kind of bunched up near the entrance to the cathedral, cursing a bit as the try to shake off the pain and discombobulation of being blinded by Gegren's flash potion. It seems they are making a tactical retreat, obviously at a disadvantage, but you all can tell at this point from the commotion still going on above that there are likely more folks up above. You have roughly 10 minutes to do something to address the situation one way or another, or you assume by then that they'll probably have regrouped and potentially even increased their number. The whole encounter did give them something to think about, though. You might be able to get the jump on them in the mud room, and/or take whatever means they took to get into the hole and beat them to the surface and hope for the best (or at least another "negotiation"), from a tactical perspective, it might be a bit more advantageous, if you take a stand here, to get on the other side of the chasm. And, speaking of the chasm, if you wanted to not go the obvious way, you could always see what's down there and see if there's something more valuable and/or an escape down that way.
